Having both individually worked for many years with small businesses and the community and voluntary sector, they noticed that although there were good supports in place for start-ups, there was a gap in the market to provide affordable and flexible office space in town centre locations, accessible for both large and small businesses.

Tom and Ken started HQKerry because they believe everyone should be happy in their work lives. They recognise the positive impact that coworking hubs can have on the wider community and how they contribute to the rejuvenation of town centres. Remote working hubs are crucial factors in supporting balanced regional development, by attracting multi-national corporations to locate in regional and rural centres. These centres can provide excellent affordability, engaging communities, a highly educated, experienced workforce, and an exceptional work/life balance.

Following on from the foundation of HQKerry, Ken and Tom also use their expertise and experience to facilitate others in the planning and development of other coworking hubs and centres across Ireland and beyond.

 

The increased development and upgrading of coworking hubs will support regional job creation, retention of skilled workforce and further talent attraction into rural areas, creating a more balanced society across the country, full of opportunity regardless of where people live.
